Walyalup I Fremantle Tennis Ball Exchange

Installation
7-17 August

interactive installation at FAC

After travelling through London and Melbourne’s NGV, David Shrigley’s Tennis Ball Exchange is landing in Fremantle as part of 10 Nights in Port.
Visitors are invited to bring an old, used or decorated ball to swap with a new one from the numerous shelves that line the walls. Gradually the rows of yellow spheres are replaced with misshapen and discoloured forms that represent the joy of trade.
Be a part of this interactive installation by contributing a ball and trading it for another to take home with you. Over time, the shelves of fresh new tennis balls will be replaced by Fremantle’s donated ones – scribbled over, slobbered on, branded and bedazzled. Make your mark with a one-of-kind contribution!

We wish to acknowledge and respect their continuing culture and the contribution they make to the life of this city and this region.
