The Great Ball Hunt

Family
09 August

Family entertainment at WFAC

Join us on Saturday August 9th to forage Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre grounds in celebration of David Shrigley’s Tennis Ball Exchange arriving in Fremantle for 10 Nights in Port.

Find a ball on the grounds, decorate it, and become part of the artwork by swapping it with one of the thousands of new tennis balls that line the shelves of the exhibition.

A morning of free family entertainment, WFAC grounds will play host to a ball hunt, kids entertainment, swing tennis and more.

The first 3,000 people to swap their ball will also receive a commemorative pin badge in Shrigley’s distinctive handwriting.

David Shrigley’s Walyalup Fremantle Tennis Ball Exchange invites visitors to bring an old, used or decorated ball to swap with a new one, toying with notions of commerce and community. Gradually the rows will be replaced with misshapen and discoloured forms that represent the joy of trade. Be amongst the first to be part of this interactive installation by trading your scribbled over, slobbered on, branded and bedazzled ball for a fresh one to take home with you.

Audiences are welcome to bring a ball from home to make their exchange or opt to find one during the hunt.
